Write a LIMERICK on a person (or pet) you know. Fictional people are possible, too.
Traditional limericks are always humorous and often a bit obscene.
To get the typical form right, mind the following points:
5 lines
rhyme scheme: aabba
metrical pattern:
3 stressed syllables in lines 1, 2 and 5
2 stressed syllables in lines 3 and 4
begin each line with an unstressed syllable
A famous example:
There once was a man from Nantucket
Who kept all his cash in a bucket.
But his daughter, named Nan,
Ran away with a man
And as for the bucket, Nantucket.
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
Cassia
P.S.:
As a variation, you can break the expected rhyme scheme of a limerick, like this:
There once was a lady from Bude
Who went swimming one day in the lake.
This works best when something naughty is expected
Welcome,
