If You Come Around On Friday
So,
If you come around on Friday
We can walk about my farm
I've begun to paint the silo
As the weather's done some harm
We can climb up to the hayloft
Pitch some hay into each stall
Check all the nests for chicken eggs
Hug the piglets while they're small
Or,
If you come around on Friday
You'll see fields that we have sown
Alfalfa, barley and soybeans
You will see how tall they've grown
We can pause up by the meadow
Where the skylark sings her tune
Or walk down to the riverbank
While away the afternoon
But,
If you come around on Friday
I'll fetch my border collie, Skye
We'll take the sheep across the road
Where the grassland hills are high
We can sit down at the table
Share some ale and just unwind
Tell our stories of the city
And the noise I left behind
Now,
If you come around on Thursday…
Welcome,
